Reading this reminded me how expensive things used to be. A mid-range desktop could easily cost you $1500-$2000. The cell-phones at the time were far more expensive than the $800 you'd spend here.

And the other day while sorting some of my dad's papers I found an old (2000-ish) ad for a 2GB flashdrive that was worth about 100$. I hadn't noticed how things have changed in less than 20 years.
