Good thing then. Cameron grew up wanting to be Ferris but became Cameron instead. This movie is about the day he realized he had a choice, and that he couldn't and didn't want to be Ferris, but he could be a better version of himself. Cameron realized that not everyone can get away with things like Ferris can, but he's spent his life in fear of consequences that all he had to do was face and he could live by his terms.

Wouldn't want to be Ferris anyway, he's a selfish dickhead who doesn't care about the consequences to his actions and doesn't take his education seriously. At least Cameron had his head on straight and cared.
