Well, judging by most of the transgender women I know, yes, they get paid less. Judging by the one transgender guy I know - yeah, the first time he went job hunting post transition (because his current job kept being passive-aggressive about the bathroom thing) all his salary offers were like three grand up.

Was the lady entry-level? Cause if she was, then that make sense.
The trans women I know are in like five different industries at different educational/experience levels. The one who doesn't make less than male counterparts (that she's aware of) is the one who works retail at really close to minimum wage to start with.

I'm actually confused at what you're arguing at this point. The woman who works at a cheap retail job (and is the only one who doesn't make less than her male counterparts)... should make less than someone in an entirely separate industry and promotion chain? I'm pretty sure that part's not in dispute.
If she's entry-level, then she should get paid less.
The guy has experience.
