I don't think it specifically states in any texts that Magdalene was a whore. Most religious scholars say she certainly wasn't. She's just mentioned very close to a passage about whores, and people who have never read a true version Bible just parrot this as fact.
As with many texts of that age it's truly impossible to know, especially when one considers the political motivations that have shaped many religions. That said: 1. It's probably best in general not to call someone a whore without proof. "Alleged whore" may be more proper but still best avoided.
2. Even if she was a whore the whole of her person can't be summed up as "whore" based off the texts, and if anything it misses the point to distill it to that considering that if she were a whore the point would be that despite having a profession like that she was accepted and was a trusted, valueable, and overall virtuous person. In other words that "whore" was a better person than many priests and "upright citizens" when it came down to it.
