Ha! I get it! Cause iPhone users are sheep because they prioritize the security and lack of need to fuss with a device over the features of other phones they likely wouldn't even use, and don't mind paying a higher price to have accessories and software verified by the manufacturer! Kinda like how people who don't do all the work on their own cars and buy parts only from auto stores are sheep compared to people who insist on going to a dealership. Wait.... maybe... that doesn't sound right...
As a company I dislike Apple and I dislike most of their products- but admit they make some quality things. They tend towards "one way" thinking- there's only one way to do things and that's their way. If you think like them great, if not they don't care, you'll have to follow their rules in apple world like it or not. But I won't be guilty of the same one way thinking, and just like buying a Mercedes doesn't make you a moron over buying a Toyota, there are tools that fit the needs, purpose, and budgets of most people. Of course I see how one could believe it to be binary. Look at debates on terrorism, immigration, or gun control to see that when people really care about security and feel threatened they often trade freedom for restrictive security. The world isn't binary, it's just primitive thinking so many like to wallow in.
No I agree with you that an iPhone can sometimes be a better fit for some (I personally have one because its simpler and at the time it was the cheaper of my 2 options) but I also agree with the fact android makes superior phones...though I will still buy an iPhone next time most likely because I prefer the dumbed down operating system considering I do not use my phone for much besides calling texting and web surfing
That's sort of the line. What is "superior"? Cheaper isn't always superior, and a can opener that also feeds your gerbils is useless to me as I don't need a can open and have no gerbils, so features don't make a thing better. The freedom of Android comes with downsides in security. If you have cloud storage or don't use much space for apps you don't care about a tiny hard drive, and so on. It's all relative, and I built my own mac out of pc parts (thanks for switching to intel apple!) so it cost no more than a home brew pc and I got a legal copy of the os for $25. It's all relative. That's my beef. Not that one is better but that it's great if you like one over the other, but that doesn't make it "better" just better for you. I would never have gotten an iPhone if it wasn't free, and I haven't paid more than $50 for any of the ones I've gotten since. So I use an iPhone at home and an android at work, both do what I need them and have strengths and weaknesses.
Android is such a broad name. Android is an OS, not a manufacturer.
You can't say Android is better than iPhone.
Because Android has... Samsung, and Wiko. Both run on Android yet one is on par with Apple's way of thinking and pricing, and the other is just cheap ass buggy as hell plastic phones.
You can say that xBrand is better than iPhone, or that Android is better than iOS, but not anything else because they're different things.
If by Android you mean phones made by Google, well it's going to be difficult because there are only the Nexuses which almost nobody have, and the Pixels which never even came out in Europe.
When someone says "IPhone vs android" I assume they mean iOS or the overall "sphere" of the platforms and software. As you point out iOS almost only runs on Apple devices and Apple mobile devices (as delivered) run on iOS. With android the platform and software are much more varied. This gives more choice but also means that quality depends entirely on the user and developers choices. The Apple "sphere" gives a more consistent user experience as there are less choices in device and less os versions. Software and hardware must meet stricter protocol which together mean that compatibility and bugs are easier to work out. Because android is so flexible two "vanilla" devices can be very different in hardware and software. Trouble shooting becomes about YOUR specific device and not necessarily an individual program or hardware component. Performance will vary greater in the "android" sphere across same model devices. It's all about user wants and needs. Neither is better. Just different.
