Meh. This is like half true. The thing about voting isn't the most accurate, it's not wrong but a lot more then just immigration play a part in it. I watch TV shows that look interesting to me. I haven't seen a single episode of game of thrones, I'm sure I'm "missing out" but it doesn't interest me so I don't care. I upgrade my smart phone every few years cause the technology is simply better, not cause I'm "worried".. I get what they mean but I just don't really agree.
Geez, moving forward isn't a bad thing
If we were just "be happy" with the situation, we probably still in stone age
Cause chewing animals alive and living in .ca were enough
Also I simply don't WANT wrinkles
Start using collagen and other good stuffs as soon as you turn 20, people. You won't regret it
I can prove this is false. There have been people considers unattractive and ugly long before plastic surgery was a thing. There are historical records of people using things like magic for wish fulfillment to be attractive/rich/young/etc. these aren't desires created by a consumerist economy. We created a consumer culture around catering to the wants and vanities people already had. It's just that now science and industry can give you things that once weren't possible, so not doing it is often seen as a sign of not having the money or care to take care of yourself or maintain an appearance. Not saying that's a good thing- just saying there isn't some system shoving it down people's throats, the system was created based off what people already wanted.
Just look at what any major religion says is the key to happiness (and some secular ideas too) and you'll find pretty quick and gratitude, spending time with other people, and not worrying about objects or money is key to happiness
