To be fair I doubt PayPal bothered to do and of its diligence during this PR stunt since their Spaceman’s trajectory was doomed from the start.
NASA is sinking full court shots and you’re impressed when an amature sends an airball from the free throw line.
This wasn’t about anything but selling some HALO flights.
Step right up folks, Musk’s patented tonic water will cure what ails you!
What you got against him? I'm not trying to fight just figure out why you hatw him so much? Also he built a re-usable rocket that has launched and landed 4 times at least so is that not impressive? Also nassa needs a bigger budget already America!
NASA isn't building reusable rockets, Spaceman had a trajectory where it was supposed to go into an orbit around Mars, they decided to test out just how much thrust they could produce and sent him on an even further orbit that will push him close to the asteroid belt. Nothing about this launch was really about Spaceman, it was about testing the Falcon Heavy and the 3rd stage launcher. It did all those things... even the one part that failed, the middle booster running out of fuel, was a successful failure since it provided data on how to better distribute fuel so all 3 stages land next time. I'll drink the tonic water vs your haterade any day of the week.
@hood agreed. NASA's budget is a pathetic freaking joke; especially consider when it has a 40:1 return on investment for the economy. There is no justifiable reason why their budget shouldn't be 5x minimum of what it currently is.
No, he's right. It won't lead "us" as in humanity as a whole to Mars. Just the rich.
Don't get me wrong, I think Elon is a great person and he's legitimately trying to help humanity, not just make a profit. But he has to pay his bills somehow as well. Then again the question is whether government-funded scientists would be able to achieve this nowadays, considering how tiny of a budget they're given because no government prioritizes science. So it's good that Musk has the money, yet I'm afraid he will prioritize those with money as well.
