That is the founder of the Protestant Faith, Martin Luther. Originally a monk, he disagreed heavily with some of the policies of the Catholic Church. Thus he decided to write his grievances down, and nail them to front door of a church in the German City of Wittenburg. Although this is a famous story, historians often dispute and say he instead wrote a letter to the bishop. Reverend King was named after this man.
@willfree the haircut is called a tonsure, and is a traditional practise of showing devotion and humility in various faiths. The pratice was mandatory for monks of the Catholic Church until 1972. However, it is seen in other faiths as well; Eastern Orthodox Christianity and Sunni Islam.
