Don't. I did that. Raised two kids. Result was a 7 year gap in my employment history. A divorce. And employers saying" If you had been a stay at home Mom we have positions available."
No. Legally all employers can set aside positions for certain demographics. When a male responds to the question,"why is there this gap in your employment?" and he says "Stay at home dad" it doesn't fit into the gap in employment stay at home mom demographic. It's legal. My lawyer and the State have said so.
I used to think the same (being a typical housewife in here) then summer vacation came and I had a taste of that (cook, clean, look after stuffs for my parents) and I couldn't stand it
I can't stand not working
In a few European countries stay at home dads have as many rights as stay at home mums. Not all though there's some way to go for male equality. Go dads!
I am a stay at home mum, I would trade places with my husband in a heartbeat!
