Why did he not just pay for a room?

It's not about the room, it's about the message.

He can afford a room, but two big reasons he wouldn't just pay? 1. This was during shooting for a film so the producers would pay his hotel, and 2. You can't actually get a room at the Columbus Ohio convention center where this was taken- what with it not being a hotel. The story attributed to the photo has no support as being real, and is full of factual inaccuracies.

This statue is at the convention center in Columbus Ohio. The mayor dedidcated it saying Arnold was a friend of the city and they wanted to memorialize him there. He was shooting a film there in 2016 when this picture was taken based on a German plane crash (he chose Columbus because he lives the city.) All he has said f the photo (which he posted to Facebook) was "How times have changed." There's no source I can find to corroborate the rest and the mayors original dedication speech didn't include anything about staying in Columbus for free, and no subsequent quotes by Arnold support him having said the rest.

As a Columbus resident, I can corroborate. Arnold loves Columbus and Columbus loves Arnold.

I appreciate the Fact that he cares. But his Comments, while true, have been known by practically everyone for a long Time. They are certainly not News worthy.
