In Australia this warning is the yellow L plates, but instead of being careful most drivers have less patience

In the US we don’t have that. Plus it isn’t required to know how to drive manual so people could have their license for years then decide they want to drive stick

L plates only apply to learner drivers, it has nothing to do with what kind of gearbox you use and if you're learning stick with a license there is no law that you need to use them.

used to be in australia you'd have to take your manual (stick) test to be able to drive a manual car. But someone claimed it was discrimnating against those with only "automatice driver's licences". so the law was changed. Now you can go for test in automatic, easy, then be a danger on the road in a manual while you learn to teach yourself.
