they mean the chemical that makes things spicy: capsaicin.

Sorry, my spelling's not the best. Capsaicin is a poison plants use to defend themselves, though we humans have evolved to enjoy it's sting. Chili and jalapeños are for example full of capsaicin.

Many rodents have teeth that never stop growing and if they don't chew on shit it grows into their head and kills them. Some rams have a similar problem with horns.
