Eel swimming through lake at the bottom of the Ocean

The 'lake' is more heavily salinated, so more dense and heavy, compared to regular sea water so that's why it sinks to create this. I think this footage was from a Blue Planet II episode

Thank you, but why won't the Salt just diffuse in the rest of the sea? You sure that it isn't richer in heavy hydrogen isotopes like deuterium?
