Well in reality that’s what last names used to be, that’s why his name is Thor odinson, the son of Odin, it was that or you were labeled by profession which in past times were generally family legacy buinsesses

exactly, why there's so many "Smiths" as black smith, Carpenter, my favourite, Northup, as the ancestors got lost a lot
