If you look closely you can see the metal barriers resting between the logs and the cab.
It's slightly underneath one of the logs but entirely intact, if that's the thing you're talking about that is :)
If I recall this story correctly the log in question came through the windshield and hit the driver so the 'headache rack' behind the cab was of no use in this situation.
We have a lot of pine trees here in Florida. I laugh every time one of these trucks is on the road bc there's absolutely nobody behind them for at least a couple hundred yards.
