They don’t so much rely on it as they save money by using windows. The benefits of OSX are largely lost or not required in this application, and the draw backs of windows aren’t a significant factor when cost is considered here. Not even Apple considers windows a useless os, they consider OSX a better “experience.” However if you know anything about apples factories in China you would be aware that they don’t really care about the Chinese workers experience there so much as they care about the cheapest path to production.

I was browsing mashable recently and they said that the reason the iPhone X was so expensive was because they bought their OLED displays from Samsung. Classic Mashable blaming Samsung for everything

It’s humorous because many Samsung products and components are made by other companies for Samsung.
