My Dad always said parenthood is like an over advertised roller coaster that has reopened. One you remember riding as a kid.
Everyone makes this HUGE HYPE about how it is nothing like before and how each turn is something new. But really you know that there will be moments when it is just like when you were a kid but it feels scarier now that you are riding in the adult car and not the kid car and you feel like all you do is climb but it feels awesome. Then the dips come and even though you are screaming and threatening the person who convinced you to ride the ride you still are having fun. Some parts you think to yourself it is all new but really it just has a new coat of paint. And you are riding just like your parents did.
After the ride is over you will look at your partner and think to yourself do I dare go again?
My parents tell me "you'll have kids when you're older." And then my mom goes "i pray your kids are worse that you." Uh thanks mom, way to encourage me to give you grandchildren.
