Humans are definitely pack animals. We aren't built to function alone for any extended period of time. The way we are built to hunt is actually fairly similar to coyotes. Just track prey until it's too fatigued to continue running. Having a "pack" of humans helps a lot. The main difference is coyotes take turns chasing so there's never a low battery coyote doing the chasing.
Human social structure differs extremely depending on a lot lot lot of things however mostly turns out to be fairly hierarchal in some sense which is fairly similar to a lot of pack animals.
that's kind of weird if you think about it. They're like sending mind waves that say "I am a human baby. I am one of you. Love me. Feed me. Love me."
