Should not have gone in to Vietnam in the first place would have saved a lot more lives

Yes but soldiers don't make that decisions, they did their best, so we honor them. Bravery is always valuable

It's not bravery to choose to go into another person's country and kill there people. Did they get forced to join the army or did they just believe the bullshit there lying government fed them and die for a meaningless war? As Americans seem to be doing for generation. bearing in mind only 25 percent of the military force in the combat zones were draftees meaning 75 percent chose to be there I have no respect or sympathy for murderers, rapists and these who torture prisoners of war which is a known face American forces did

You do realize that many of the soldiers sent to Vietnam were drafted in right? Blame the politicians (both sides), not the people on ground.

Sabald. Regardless what you think about the war, this dude was a badass that risked his life repeatedly to save people even after getting wounded. Nobody likes war, especially the soldiers.

You both need to read my comment it clearly states "25 percent of the military force in the combat zones were draftees meaning 75 percent chose to be there" so as far as I'm concerned they went for war and got it

But still when you swear in they send you where they need you. You dont get to say no I dont want to go Nam. You dont get to say no I dont want to fight in Iraq. You dont get to say no I dont want to go to Somalia. Soldiers choose to serve you. They dont choose who and where they fight.

I went to Somalia and Iraq. We helped a hell of a lot more people than we harmed. You hate the military and the folks that provided your freedom to state your opinion. There's no point in arguing with you. Enjoy the freedom that better men provide.

If our military had been only the conscripts and none of the volunteers America wouldn't have had the military to dissuade the other powerful countries from invading us and would have either had to bend the knee or conscript the other 75 percent anyways. Murders, rapes, and other very horrible things happen in war. There will always be bad people.
