Yeah, 3/4 of the people in Paris are kinda dicks. Don't get me wrong, I bet there are some really nice people there but the majority of story's I hear end badly
French people are the rudest people on the planet relatively lots of the time they don’t mean it angrily they just have always talked like that so that’s how they speak to you

I've always wanted to leave this hellhole and travel up the West coast of Europe. One of those dreams of mine.
Well to be fair, foreigners trying to speak your native language (especially English natives speaking French) are often times more difficult to understand than whne they speak English, even if your own English isn’t that great
English is an isolating language.
If it's your native, you'll have difficulty speaking and being understood in others.
If you learn it, you'll deteriorate in other languages faster.

I don’t really feel like my French and German have deteriorated because I learned English
You know three different languages and I barely know one.

Well, I only really speak Dutch and English. I can understand French and German, but those languages have deteriorated. Not because of English, but because I never use them
I was in Ontario and I was like 11 or 12 and knew some French from middle school. I'm alone on this elevator and this kid gets on and I say hi, but he says "Je ne parle en Engles" (I know that is not the right spelling or conjugation, but it's been over a decade since I've used the stuff) so I got "Je ne parle en Francis" and try to say some things to him, but he was just silent, and once the doors opened I got off. Never tried to use my limited French knowledge again.
I'm French and I feel very sorry for you :(
People in Paris are not very nice, I don't really know why (probably because the underground smells like piss, or because it's crowded, or because they are pissed to see so many foreigners everyday, idk).
I was used to travel a lot abroad and I know how terrifying it can be when you're lost, so anytime I meet tourists who need some help, I always take the time to guide them the best I can, so they can at least remember something nice about their trip.
Once, I remember a road in my town was temporarily closed by a policeman (it was just a matter of 1 hour or so). An English dude was concerned and didn't know where to go to park his car (since this blocked road leads to one of the biggest car park of the town). The policeman was trying to explain him other locations, but he had obviously no skills in English. I could see how relieved the English dude was when I showed up and explained him the directions properly (and so was the police guy xD)
