She’s fighting her end of the issue, not the girl’s.
And before any of you bastards try to say that it’s unsanitary or some shit, if you don’t shave your own legs consider that for a bit.
Shaved legs as a beauty standard isn't oppression though, and definitely isn't doing anything for any oppression.
Personally, if someone wants to not shaved their body hair, it's their choice and theirs alone, they don't have to act like it's a big political move to save a few bucks on razors.
I read something about this girl once, I believe she isn’t really doing it to “fight the oppression of women”, she just thought having to shave was bullshit so she stopped doing it
It’s more about choice, and the standard we hold men to versus women. Shaving ones legs is not basic hygiene, nor is it required of men- but less so if one doesn’t show their legs in a professional setting. Yes- we expect men for the most part to shave facial hair- but compare the cost and effort of shaving or trimming facial hair to the costs and effort of the standards of makeup, eye brows/lashes, skin regiments, body image, etc we hold women to and you’ll see that things like “they get to wear dresses when it’s hot!” Don’t hold up. The classic argument is that “women do it because they want to! They are the ones holding themselves to those standards!” Ok. Look at these comments for when a woman doesn’t hold herself to those standards. Would you still argue that societies idea of what a woman should do as the minimum to leaving the house is “self imposed”?
Who imposed that shit? It wasn't men....it was other women who set the "standard" of what's beautiful and what's "normal." Can you imagine if all women did something--not shave their legs, or not wear makeup--do,you think men would, suddenly not want to have sex with them?
Do you really think that the reason women shave their body hair is because they’re worried if they don’t that no one will have sex with them? Or that most women’s primary concern in life is getting sex? If you examine your misunderstanding of things you’ll see the type of thinking that is indicative of the problem.
I'm pretty sure this is fake guys. I've seen the picture on the top circulate around the internet for years and it's always been connected to the girl's personal decision, not some feminist cause.
