Technically we have 19, though we only call 10 of them aircraft carriers.

And we have, like, ten more on the way.

More like overcompensating for something else... disarmament all the way

Granted if we took on the rest of the world we'd end up in a similar position to Nazi Germany.

Except without the genocide and the losing the war

I think we would lose. Now if we had someone like Russia or China on our side, there's no question that we would win. Everyone needs allies.

If something could turn us against NATO and Europe, we'd likely be fighting beside Russia or China anyways.

Yeah, probably.

It would probably come out of a request from everyone else in NATO to undergo disarmament.

Or the U.N.

In a non-nuclear worldwide war without the collateral damage restrictions we currently self-impose we'd win. If we did a preemptive attack it wouldn't even be close. Think about our subs. Our subs would decimate every other navy out there... and then with our aircraft carriers we control both the sea and the sky... the rest is just a matter of time.

Nevermind the first strike capability granted by our bombers and bases

If shit got bad, we could just retreat back home. If anyone invaded, every city would have people with guns in it. That's why Japan didn't want to invade America in WWII.

Also the issue of getting past our Navy, Air force, and guard

Though in this alternative timeline where America breaks off from NATO and ally's itself with Russia and China, I doubt we'd have to do that.

If the U.N. pushes too hard against our sovereignty I could see it happening.

I'd pay to see a movie about it, or at least read an alternate history novel about it.

I wouldn't mind being a part of that fight, if anyone does try something like that

It would have to be a novel... or like.. a trilogy of movies. IMO the best route would be a tv series. And yeah... anyone trying a land invasion of the continental US is fucking out of their mind lol. That's even more idiotic than trying to take Russia in winter.

Canadians wouldn't have a problem. I'd also say the Nordic countries wouldn't have much trouble but I don't think they'd be much of a threat.

You say that like Canadians are even remotely a threat.

The bulk of their forces wouldn't survive the first strike

Unless they targeted a vulnerable place like Maine or the top half of Michigan.
