I’m on the fence. Trees are fine but corn can both feed people and be converted to ethanol which helps reduce the use of fossil fuels.

But if the corn field was just going to lie fallow because the farm shut down, the forest is certainly an improvement. Which I assume is what happened.

In that hypothetical I agree with your assessment.

Corn is way too overproduced, anyhow.
