Skyscrapers actually do move and it is one of the most crucial parts architects work on.

Unrelated to the questions, but I noticed the other day that the title says "sky scrapping" and I haven't been able to get the imagery of like two muscle bound buildings just going at it like sumo wrestlers everytime I see this post since then

Not to be picky but people give too much credit to architects. Architects mostly create plans of the interior and exterior design of the building. Its civil and structural engineers that actually try and make the construction of the building possible however crazy the design may be. They look at the forces acting on the building and decide if the building is stable even during earthquakes.
