To be fair the guy seems like a douche bag. He is standing in front of a escalator where people are trying to walk. He also brought a hoverboard and tablet to what looks like a mall?

I don't see how bringing a tablet to the mall is a big deal tbh, and no, he probably shouldn't be doing it at the top of an escalator. He doesn't seem to be directly impeding anybody, though, and I doubt this stunt would have gone on for more than a few minutes even if the kid hadn't gotten involved. Douche bag seems a bit harsh a word for a guy whose main crime seems to be owning a hoverboard and being slightly more to the right of things than he ought.
