I put a drum stool top on my bike one time it was way less comfortable than a banana

The banana design is necessary to prevent pressure point ect, given the position you are in while riding. It would be helpful though, if the widened the seat portion itself. Seriously, most if the seats I've seen in adult bikes are the same size as the little kids.

A normal-shaped seat would prevent you from moving your foot as far down as you need to to pedal effectively.
