That's bullshit man, shitty riders will get pissed when the driver is fed up with their shit and drop 1 star reviews on'em you know it has to happen pretty often that's fucked up shit man
I work at a credit Union where they will send out surveys to members and the service standard for some is 9.25 out of 10. So if you rate is a 9 it of 10 we are below standards.
I personally don't really get this kind of rating system. In my head 4 out of 5 stars would mean they did a great job and deserve praise. 5 out of 5 stars would mean absolutely fantastically amazing dreams come true perfection. I hate this notion that anything that isn't perfect or near-perfect is an unacceptable failure.
It's like a school grading scale. 5 out of 5 is 100%, an A and mostly acceptable. 4 out of 5 is only 80%, barely a B and rarely accepted by most parents.
Last time I was in the US (and needed to use uber a lot), on my very last trip to LA airport, I've got a super xxl Uber for the price of a normal Uber. The reason ? I was a 5 stars customer. The driver of this super cool car told me "I've been doing that job since the very beginning of Uber, and you're my first 5-stars customer".
He explained me then that most customers were assholes who would put average rates for stupid things, like music or car perfumes...
It shocked me because all the ubers I ordered in LA were "at least" efficient and good drivers, so they did deserve their 5 stars anyway. To me, 5 stars does not mean it was fantastic or outstanding service (it's just a car drive, not an all-inclusive hotel...), it just means the guys did his/her bloody job and drove safely.
