There’s been slaves of all races throughout history. Black people in America feel oppressed simply because America used mainly slaves from Africa. Slavery wasn’t about racism it was about availability. They didn’t think, “I hate these black people lets sail to Africa to enslave them.” That doesn’t mean that people didn’t hate them and saw them as inferior but that’s not why they were enslaved and white people have historically suffered just as much cruelty.

It does make me a bit pissed that SOME black people feel like they were the only ones enslaved and then blame white people who obviously never owned a slave in their lives for their oppression. I'm white and some of my ancestors in Europe were slaves. You won't see me screaming about it. And no one seems to care about the slaves being beaten, raped, and starved in North Korea...

They were enslaved because of racism. It's because they saw these people as inferior that they seemed vulnerable and exploitable. Even after the end of slavery, this mindset led to some of the nastiest pieces of legislation in our history. Jim Crow, Black codes, the many lynchings and firebombings and other acts of terrorism that went unpunished, and many of these happened to a generation that is still alive. They weren't considered human, regardless if they were enslaved or not.

A bit of historical context for this photo would be nice, but I'm guessing it's referring WWII.
