Depending on time period many “Romans” were “black.” Rome was at times very large and spread across continents. It’s cotezens came from many parts of the world- and it’s one of if not the first major “melding pot” nation in recorded history. In fact it’s one of the earliest recorded organized nations of size and note that allowed the retention of language by annexed territories. Of course “black” is a general term and it’s precise meaning varies through history, as well as geographically and even person to person. In a general sense “Black” merely refers to “dark skinned” people’s and is relative depending on where in the world you are. In some countries certain islanders or even those from Latin America and surrounding sub equatorial countries are considered “black.”
