Sadly more modern remotes aren’t always as robust. Older remotes required very little power to function. More modern remotes with things like blue tooth, touch screens, WiFi, headphone jacks or audio capabilities, etc. tend to still last awhile, but not nearly as long and the old tricks don’t help much or at all. Like cell phones, the more features we add, the more power hungry they become.
