But it's also bad to run the fuel that low too often. It exposes the fuel pump to the air and can cause it to prematurely burn itself up or if your car is older the fuel tank gets debris/sludge built up on the bottom and the fuel pump will suck it up and cause clogs in your fuel lines or injectors/jets.
