I don't care about the exhaustpipe being a lie I just want that car so bad. The 3005 is basically my dreamcar at the moment, slightly bigger and heavier than the 2008 but not as expensive in insurance as the 5008. And it now so happens that the peugeot dealer I drive by 4 times a day has just put a GREEN 3008 on display and I have to drive by my dreamcar in an amazing colour on a daily basis.

This is surprisingly common nowdays. There are technical issues and costs with making rail pipes actually look like that and being tucked up to the bumper or body, but newer designs are often thought to look “cheap” with an “old” out of place looking little tail pipe hanging out. Faking the funk is not new to cars, ducts and vents that go no where or are actually sealed, spoilers and wings that do nothing, fuel doors made to look like the flaps on race cars but just covering a gas cap, fake or veneer carbon fibers, composite, wood, or aluminum. Auto makers figured out a log time ago that most car buyers care for appearance and perception, not fact or substance.
