Did someone help him by telling him what was going on? I don't remember the game being voiced so it seems like this would be confusing bordering on impossible. Still, impressive AF either way
Short detail on a video about blind gamers:
Many video games have audio cues, one way to help is by using cheats and playing in God Mode. It is hard at first but after a while they recognize cues like different music for levels and control vibrations when they do certain actions.
If you have time, about 15 mins, feel free to watch this video. Very detailed explanation.

I'll try to remember to watch it later (i don't have time right now unfortunately). That does sound interesting, though, and makes sense, although I still wonder how they'd know they're talking to the correct NPC/buying the right things etc, or even what the plot in general was. Maybe it's explained in the video
"Spent 8 weeks on a boss battle." Sounds like dark souls, I swear.
From what he says he basically relies on his friends to teach him the menus, youtube playthroughs to teach him the story, cheats to get through walls in areas he genuinely has no hope of navigating, and the rest is learning the game's audio cues and just sheer willpower and enjoyment
I actually was playing majora's mask and was in the middle of one of the temples when I had to go away for a couple weeks. Came back and FORGOT what the hell I was doing, and what I'd done already, and just never started the game again because I couldn't remember what part I was at and didn't want to start the temple over (again) when the time inevitably ran out... <_<
