No, you're not forced to do so. You choose to do so because it's the best of your available options (driving, walking, swimming, not going) . That's a huge difference. On one hand you're grateful that some people have worked very hard to make a metal bird escort you quickly and safely to a far away land. On the other hand, you've somehow convinced yourself that you're entitled to a bunch of services when you didn't have anything to do with their exsistance.
Every company wants to make a bigger profit. That's precisely the reason we even have the option to fly across the world in the first place.

Who are we to decide how good sombody's customer service should be? It's their company.
A shame that most airline companies profit off of human suffering. They keep lowering the amount of leg room, but more often than not, there are few other companies that you could fly with instead that would have better service. There is no free market involved in airline travel. Only a monopoly, where the consumer suffers unless they are able to pay an exorbitant fee.
I'm not gonna lick the airline's boots for giving me shitty service. That would be like thanking the cashier for breaking all of your eggs while they're bagging your groceries.
I never said you should lick their boots. I'm saying that you could be grateful that the ability to fly even exists and its available to you or you could feel entitled to have them lick your boots.

Life hack: If you want happiness in your life i recommend you lean toward gratitude as often as you can. Entitlement makes us bitter. The best part of the whole thing is that its our choice.
Crappy leg room is not "human suffering." It's Goddamned expensive to move people through the air. Solution: buy a first class ticket. This is all you have to do.
I'm grateful that there's a cashier to bag my groceries and a container to keep my eggs safe, but I'm still gonna be ticked if they break the eggs while they're bagging them. It's not entitlement to disapprove when a company isn't doing their job in a satisfactory manner.
You're right, that would be a breach of your expectation agreement (also very valid).
But unless your airline promised you leg room, delicious food, and a pleasant experiance in exchange for the ticket fee you're SOL.
Such cry babys!!! Airline travel has never been more affordable or accessible. You can literally pay a few hundred bucks and get anywhere in the country in a couple hours. Know why people used to wear suits on airplanes? Because it cost a fortune! If you want better service, nut up and pay for first class. Otherwise STFU, put in your headphones, watch a movie and chill out while you fly at 30,000 feet at 500 mph for $170.
