If you know the dark theory about the Rugrats, this image makes sense, I think we can all understand why this FUCKING HORRENDOUS THING would have been aborted.

Yeah, where she imagined it all and the babies are actually aborted/stillborn/died with their moms during labor...

Meh. When rugrats came out the style it was in was sort of a fad at the time. Many Nick cartoons used a similar aesthetic style. I didn’t much care for that style of animation even if I did find rug rats to be occasionally entertaining, it wasn’t something I’d really watch unless it was the only option and I was rather bored and just wanted to watch something. If they changed to the style above, I doubt I’d much care. I also doubt I’d watch a rugrats remake, but if it was good I would watch it and be fine with this. It has a very classic feel to me and reminds me of some of the cartoons that were out when I was very young. It seems to be a nod to early animation like Felix The Cat or many of the “shorts” of warmer styles. I like it, but the way they moved would be crucial. I’d want the frames and pans and angles and overall movement to be very old school as well. I don’t think this would look good with newer fluid movement and dynamic art direction.

I'm very conflicted on how I feel about old rugrats animation. It moves nice, but idk, something about it seems... uncanny to me. Maybe it's the character design?
