Well I expect people to handle my goods with care, but I hate the fact of monitoring everything and everyone. My relationship with my mailman is based on trust, I don't think having a little spy on everyone's shoulder is healthy.
That's... kinda naive. Maybe my boss should just trust me when I say that I worked 161 hours this week. Why make sure that I did when he could just trust that I have?
That's ok. Everyone doesn't do that and I'd rather be betrayed by one than stop trusting a hundred. However, don't think people are complete morons. At tops, you can do like that one guy who didn't show up to work for 5 years straight until it was discovered (and was still cashing his paychecks), but that would be dishonest. And it's always discovered. But if you go to work for 5 hours a week and match your weekly goals, that's fine with me.
And it can work in the big bad capitalist world ! There's a guy who sells computer pieces next to where I live. The first time I bought something from him I wasn't 100% sure it was the right piece. And you know what he did? He told me to go home and come back to either pay or return the product. Just like that, he trusted me, a complete stranger. That's his line of work and way of living. That was 3 years ago and his buisness is doing well. (Of course I came back)
