Is China even socialist? I mean, there is a strong government presence in the economy but at what point does an economy turn from capitalist to socialist? If it's any presence of socialism, then the U.S. long ago left capitalism behind.
China is clearly not socialist, nor are they communist, nor are they fascist, nor are they capitalistic.... they've selected what they deem to be the best properties of each and it's some weird cocktail of all of them.
The notion North Korea is socialist is also hilariously laughable unless you are living in NK and brainwashed.
Venezuela's problems are more about a one export economy rather than socialism. I've already gone over this a few times in excruciating detail. I'll do my best to sum it up quickly.... Norway and Sweden don't have these problems. If the price of fish falls it doesn't impact the timber market; it doesn't prevent them from building some of the most advanced medical equipment on the planet.
The USSR doesn't exist anymore.
Mmm.... yes and no. Socialism is their staple/ propaganda. This is how socialism is used in this shitty situations. Not the nice socialists programs of Northen Europe.
The USSR doesn't exist, but the people who lived under it's regime sure do, and the post is about the people who lived under those regimes, not the regimes themselves.
And just fyi. My family has lived in two. Tried to warned people on the sexond but, what do you know? People don't listen to those that actually have experienced it.
