Jellyfish look like they're from another planet

That's because they are, Google "jellyfish evolution timeline" and compare with earth's climate then and now. The atmosphere, the sea, the life, the geology etc was so different it may as well have been a different planet.

If you think that's alien, look up their life cycle. They have this weird thing they do where they essentially spend a portion of their life as a plant.
