When I was very young, everyone in my class thought I was Korean. They sometimes try to greet me in Korean, which only made me confused

I know that feel. People think I'm Mexican or some part of Latino. On occasion, they try and speak Spanish to me. I'm from Hawaii :/

The main actor of "The Night of" Riz Ahmed is english with pakistani roots. I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel complaining how people in New York would try to impress him with their spanish. When he told them he was actually of asian origin some wouldn't believe it, cause he doesn't "look asian" meaning he doesn't look chinese/vietnamese/japanese but "brown" which is latin. Or how about Cliff Curtis (Fear the walking dead) who is a native New Zealander and looks so "brown" that he is usually casted as latino or arab.
