Shouldn't it be 'What are geologists motivated by?' Or take the s off of geologists

I think this might have been the teacher putting a funny question in their exam/hw

The emptiness of their life that makes them unable to bond with any living creature, thereby leading them to harass rocks as they can't run away from them like everyone does.

This professor is either dyslexic or needs to be fired.
