Sadly enough, it's very much a real thing. A failure of the education system in America.

This ia rather about ignorance than intelligence, those type of people cherry pick information, misuse and abuse data/statistics, purposefully build axioms on false but not provable assumptions [ e.g: "There is a planet shaped like a dick" --> it's nearly impossible to prove that all of the planet's in the whole galaxy (and further) are round so "therefore you can't prove me wrong, therefore I am right."] . And ignorant people will assume that they are always right, to gain a feeling of superiority

The stupid thing about a planet shaped like a dick is that it's actually impossible. It's like a square with five sides. In order for it to be deemed a planet, it has to be almost a perfect sphere.

Yeah that's the point, with assumptions you could conclude that there is no planet shaped like a dick, but since you can't empirically prove me wrong I can wrongly assume that I am right, since there is no prove against my idea.

This is the Twitter equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalala I can't hear you"
