Actually male calico cats do exist but they're really rare. Out of 100 calicos, maybe 5 will be male and most of those cats would be sterile.

long haired orange cats are also pretty rare. I got my cat Liger from a friend because she couldn't take care of her and gave her to my mom for her birthday... mom took it to the vet and the vet had never seen that.

The calico gene is carried on the X chromosome. Since females are XX and males are XY, if a male cat somehow acquires the calico gene, it is at the expense of his health. Male calicos are, by definition, freaks of nature. They are almost always sterile, have immense health problems, and have a very short lifespan. It's unfortunate, but if you do come across a male calico and choose to adopt, please give him a healthy, peaceful, happy home and let him know—in his twilight years—that he is safe and loved. I literally got choked up just thinking about this.
