Both are wrong, the thermometer should be between the parents index and middle fingers and palm should be flat against the butt so the thermometer can be removed should the infant move suddenly. If method two is used baby should be removed! Sorry I'm a dad, seeing shoddy parenting irks me.

Don’t apologize for giving safety advice! I was at a wedding a little while ago and saw a parent pick their kid up by the arms and it made me cringe internally so badly. I went over and said that I wasnt trying to mom-shame by any means, but did they know the dangers of that? Little children love to be picked up by their arms, yes, swung around, etc. but it is completely unsafe as they cannot support their body weight with their arms! My daughter was picked up by an ex of mine by her arms as they were playing and she ended up with a spiral fracture in one and a hairline fracture in the other. We broke up right after that and I share our story all the time. Don’t be sorry. You’re a parent- sharing safety advice is good.

Right after I posted my comment, I had a mother come in my store with a toddler, no shoes socks or jacket, thin onesie and shorts its 38°f and raining sideways with a 30mph wind. I wanted to roundhouse kick that woman upside the head!

What the fuck. Did you say anything to her? Like, ma’am, you do realize it’s getting cold outside and you are carrying a baby, not a lizard correct? Yes, okay, I’ll be back with CPS in a moment.

That's twice this week I've had something like that, what's worse is the 'mother' was wearing a sweatshirt and long pants, if it had been me the sweatshirt would've been either draped over the toddler or just flat out being worn by said toddler, but I guess that's the difference between an idiot and a parent that actually tries to care for their child.

Look at how many parents leave the kid in a running car to run inside a store for a "minute, or bake a kid in the heat of summer while getting their hair done, casino gambling ect. The same idiots that get upset at teachers for failing kids that , don't do homework, miss a lot of school ect. Yet some how , as a society, it's still uncomfortable to try to correct a shit parent's behavior.

I've told many customers that I see to not leave a kid in their car at my store and let me or one of my employees catch it or we will call the police, and we have a few times, I did tell that lady last night it was too cold to have that baby dressed so lightly especially when they were having mechanical issues with their truck. I've also had a customer tell a lady that left her newborn in her car to get a pack of smokes that 'she should be smacked and have her kid taken away!' It was a good thing I was turned around because I smiled at that statement.
