Very touching story but the facts are that even though millions are killed every year they still remain at the Least Concern conservation status level. This means they are not in any danger, as a species, of dying out.
I don't think anyone claimed they were endangered. Iirc he said they are poached and IN danger from hunters. Poaching implies most of these hunters likely shouldn't be hunting them to begin with
Wasn't claiming he did it's just I don't have an issue with people hunting birds, most likely for food, that are not on the endangered list. Granted it would be horrible if someones pseudo pet was killed but most storks aren't pets. Kinda like chicken in that respect.
The ones hunting legally and responsibly for food are certainly entitled to. The poachers are not.
