The coil attached to the battery makes an AC magnetic field, the coil on the light picks it up. This technology is a hundred years old, I don't know why people talk like it's cutting edge.

look dude, brushless motors have been around for a long time as well and I was still mindblown when I figured out how they work. Just because something is "old" doesnt mean it's not cool.

we've had the tech for wireless stuff for years. One company used it kinda recentlyish and suddenly all the others had to do so to compete
