I could be wrong, but in't this one of those kiss cameras? I don't think he's trying to prove anything to his gf, I think he's trying to explain to the stadium why he's not going to make out with the girl beside him just because the camera is on them

This is actually his sister it was the holidays and she came to visit and he had a spare ticket to the game. She said she wanted to go so he printed out the paper and said just Incase the kiss camera goes to us. When it came on he told her here we go. And sure enough it came on and he whipped out the sign. Lol it wasn't the only game he did it at lol he did it at other games after that lol.
