Besides Voldemort, she is the only other character in the series to leave a lasting scar on Harry Potter's body. As the head of the Muggle-born Registration Commission, and appears to have written a leaflet called "Mudbloods and the Dangers They Pose to a Peaceful Pure-Blood Society",

I mean, he DID exist separate of Voldemort, (or else doesn't exist at all anymore), so I'm not sure he invalidates hating Voldemort.

Then again I always preferred Oliver Wood, but I'm a sucker for Scottish accents
My children and I have discussed this at length. What makes Umbridge even more vile and wicked than Voldemort is the fact that Voldemort is blatantly evil. He makes no effort to hide or disguise his desire for power or the fact that he will stop at nothing to get it. Umbridge, on the other hand, uses the pretense that she is behaving in a way that is “good”, “pure” or “for the best”. She twists others’ words and actions to get her way (“I WILL HAVE ORDER!!”), and constantly abuses her authority while acting as though she isn’t doing anything wrong or inappropriate. She speaks in her stupid, “friendly”, manipulative way, and you just want to punch her in the throat. (Unless that last part is just me. Heh heh.)
