Potatoes. Potato salad, mashed potatoes, vodka, fried potatoes, boiled potatoes, vodka, shoestring fried potatoes, potatoes in shepard's pie, baked potatoes, vodka, stir fried potatoes, potato soup. Are any of the other roots even trying? Where's the alcohol from fermented peanuts? Where's the baked rhubarb with butter and sour cream? Where's the mashed rutabaga with pecan? OK that last one exists and it's good. But
potatoes are the fruit of the earth. Red, Irish, Idaho or whatever.
In a DnD session we were in a town that mainly exported potatoes so we were exploring the cultural food. Halfway through taking to the npcs we found out that vodka is made with potatoes. More than half of our group were bards, rouges and barbarians... The knight of the group and I, the cleric were the only ones not getting drunk. We wasted the entire session trying to get our blacked out teammates off the streets...
