The income tax rate was 75% about 30 years ago, of course with secure borders the govt looked after everyone who contributed not the dregs of the world.

So you know how I'm staying in France atm and those demonstrations are everywhere, trains and trams don't go anymore... Today I was on a road trip with my boyfriend and friends of mine and we came to a point where protesters made a road block and wouldn't let people pass. We waited in line for 15min or so, then me and my friend went outside to ask why they wouldn't let us pass. They were super aggressive, one of them even pushed me and the other one looked like she was about to hit me in the face. I told them "Look at all those innocent people you're punishing by keeping them from driving , all the taxes and stuff are not their fault. Your whole country will hate you and stop supporting you if you keep protesting like that" and this one guy seriously replied that they weren't protesting because of the tax anymore, but because they actually want to punish their landsmen for not having their back? Btw the tax doesn't exist anymore, they just keep protesting for the sake of protesting
