The term “sheep” as a pejorative is quite often misused or overused. One of the fundamentals of the concept is that a “sheep” leaves self awareness. A “sheep” is not simply a follower, but ome who lacks the self awareness of their actions, and does not thusly have the ability to change them, they lack “purpose” in what they do and simply follow a path as presented without thought. The basic ability to engage in critical thought negates the term. If one is aware of their actions and desires, and makes a conscious choice to follow a path because based on the information they have available that is the path they determine is best to reach their goal- it doesn’t matter if that’s the same path 99% of people are on, they reached it by their own conclusion, and- as is logical in a society where most people aren’t so far apart in intelligence- more than one person can see a good decision, and more than one person can have the same goal which has an obvious path which will suit most people.

I think the point the OP is trying to make is that we cant immediately tell who the sheep are as we may seem like one to others. We shouldnt immediately assume that everyone is a sheep.

everyone is a sheep. No one is not a sheep. Literally every human in the world is secretly a sheep wearing human clothes and wearing a human suit to hide from the wolves.

I disagree, not everyone is a sheep. I think you become a sheep, or are one when you start doing something without your own desire or want to do it (like @guest_ beautifully summed up). An easy example is someone listening to a certain type of music, not because they actually like it but because it's mainstream. This person hasn't put their own thought into it, they're simply doing it because majority of people are doing it too. If you blindly follow without any thought or awareness, you are a sheep.
